Bio of Ms, Januka Giri ( Ambassador of Nepal, Youth Parliament Model SAARC)

Januka Giri is a final-year Master’s student in Biomedical Science with a profound commitment to social work and community service. She currently serves as the Project Manager for “We for All” in Myanmar, a pivotal initiative focused on advancing human rights and empowering women. Under her leadership, the project offers comprehensive educational and vocational training programs designed to equip women with essential skills for personal and professional development. The initiative includes workshops on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership, aimed at enhancing women’s opportunities and confidence. In addition to these educational efforts, “We for All” actively raises awareness about critical human rights issues through various events and campaigns, advocating for gender equality and social justice. The project also directly supports local communities by providing access to vital resources such as healthcare, legal aid, and emergency assistance. Through strategic collaborations with local NGOs, community leaders, and international partners, Januka ensures that the programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of the communities served. The success of “We for All” is evident in the numerous women who have gained the skills and confidence to start their own businesses and take on leadership roles, a testament to the project’s ongoing impact in Myanmar.

In addition to her role with “We for All,” Januka holds the position of Country Director for Global Peace Chain Myanmar. In this capacity, she leads impactful initiatives focused on peace-building and human rights advocacy. Her work includes advocating for the rights of the Rohingya people and raising awareness about their humanitarian needs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she organized five mask campaigns across Myanmar and led the “Let’s Hit Pandemic” initiative, which provided essential food supplies to families in need and established a food bank for ongoing community support.

Januka’s work has earned her the Global Change Makers Award in Nepal (2022) and the Youngest Social Worker Revolutionizing Society of Asia award in Dubai (2023), recognizing her innovative contributions to social justice and community empowerment.
